Specimen Collection Criteria

Collect: One Royal Blue-top EDTA tube. (Minimum: 1.0 mL)

Physician Office/Draw Specimen Preparation

Do not centrifuge. Maintain whole blood refrigerated at (2-8°C or 36-46) prior to transport.

Preparation for Courier Transport

Transport: 2.0 mL whole blood, refrigerated at (2-8°C or 36-46). (Minimum: 1.0 mL)

Rejection Criteria

  • Sodium heparin lead-free (tan top) tube.
  • Specimens not collected or processed as indicated.

In-Lab Processing

Transport: 2.0 mL whole blood, refrigerated at (2-8°C or 36-46). (Minimum: 1.0 mL)
