Clinical Utility
IgD (molecular weight 185
kD) is one of the 5 classes of human immunoglobulins. IgD accounts for less
than 1% of the total plasma immunoglobulins. Very high serum IgD
concentrations can be found in multiple myeloma patients. Raised
levels are also found in hyperimmunoglobulinemia IgD syndrome (HIDS).
