Specimen Collection Criteria

Collect: 10.0 mL urine collected in sterile screw-cap container, with no preservative and 10.0 mL urine collected in sterile screw-cap container.

Physician Office/Draw Specimen Preparation

From one thoroughly mixed sterile collection container, divide into two sterile collections:

1. Minimum 2.0 mL in sterile screw-cap container and
2. Minimum 0.5 mL in sterile screw-cap container

Freeze immediately. Send both samples together. Patient age should be included.

Maintain specimen frozen (-20°C/-4°F or below) prior to transport.

Preparation for Courier Transport

Transport: 2 urine containers, frozen (-20°C/-4°F or below). (Minimum: 2.0 mL and 0.5 mL)

Rejection Criteria

• Specimens with a pH<2.
• Shipping room temperature for more than 3 days.
• Shipping refrigerated for more than 3 days.
• Specimens collected or processed other than as indicated.
