First Beaumont Pathology Seminar: Current Issues in Hematopathology

We are pleased to present the First Beaumont Pathology Seminar: Current Issues in Hematopathology on April 18, 2015. This year's seminar will be held at the Detroit Marriott Troy Hotel.

The symposium provides significant opportunities for professional education, networking and resource building for registrants. You should strongly consider attending if you are a community pathologist or an oncologist and are interested in learning about this fast-paced specialty of clinical laboratory science. We are pleased to bring you these excellent educational opportunities at modest registration fees, thanks to our commerical exhibitors.

Objectives

An all-day Hematopathology conference to discuss lymphomas and multiple myeloma, including early events, molecular basis, pathologic diagnosis and interesting case discussions.

While all physicians and health care professionals are invited, this year's seminar is focused on the practice of Hematology and Oncology geared towards both clinicians and pathologists. Upon completion of this seminar, attendees can expect to achieve the following overall objectives:

1. Identify the basis of lymphoid proliferations and the events involved in Lymphomagenesis.
2. Identify the criteria for the diagnostic entities discussed.
3. Review and discuss the practical evaluation of lymphoid and plasmacytoid proliferation.
4. Correlate the flow cytometry studies with histopathology and immunohistochemistry.
5. Recognize the molecular basis of Lymphomas.
6. Discuss clinical and treatment implications for patients with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma based on morphologic and molecular classification.

Accreditation and Credit

Accreditation: Beaumont Hospital is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit: Beaumont Hospital designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
